Johnson Controls and Primer Group of Companies set up two Joint Ventures (JVs) in October 2021 with Stellar Equipment & Machinery, Inc. (SEMI) and Aircond.Network Philippines, Inc. (ANPI) to advance the long-standing partnership between the two companies. Over the last decade, SEMI and ANPI distributed and provided services for Johnson Controls YORK® chillers, unitary products and controls.

This solidifies our long-term commitment to the Philippine market, and allows Johnson Controls to have closer access to our customers, grow our business in other key verticals, and expand our product portfolio sales into some of our focused market segments.

The JVs bring together and cement the complementary strengths of Johnson Controls and Primer Group. Since Primer first started in 1985 as a small trading company, the group has grown tremendously and established its own heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) arm. Primer Industrial, composed of SEMI, ANPI and Beyond Energy Solutions Technology, Inc (BEST), became a comprehensive source and provider for HVAC, energy solutions and building management systems.

Primer Group brings to the JVs deep understanding of the Philippine market and its valuable networks. Well–known as one of the top providers of HVAC units in the country, they provide HVAC services to some of the largest buildings and iconic establishments in the country. They have built up long-standing, strong relationships with their direct customers, with national and regional reach.

The JVs are positioned to become a leader in the built environment technology space in the fast-growing Philippine market with great demand for safer and more sustainable buildings and facilities.

Johnson Controls has been growing in Asia Pacific (APAC), serving its customers through an extensive network. Currently in APAC, Johnson Controls has:

In June 2017, Johnson Controls Asia Pacific Headquarters was opened in Shanghai, China, becoming China's first "triple-certified" green building-three-star China Green Building Design Mark Certification, IFC-World Bank Group EDGE (Excellent Energy Efficient Design) certification And the United States Green Building Association LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification for new buildings.
